We went on a tour in a little swamp called "Honey Island". It was so much fun, and I'm so glad we were able to squeeze in the time to go! There are a lot of different tours around here, and since we aren't from here, we didn't really know which one was the best. I did some research and this was the cheapest one, and it turned out to be really awesome. We were so close to the alligators, and we had a tour guide who talked about the swamp the whole two hours. He gave us a lot of information about swamp life, the birds and trees, the houses (yes people have houses on the swamp/river) and Hurricane Katrina and how that affected things. We fed the gators hotdogs and marshmallows (they look like eggs to them)! There were tons of gators, one in every territory. Every territory is about a square mile, and they fight each other to keep their territory. There are more females because the males fight too much.
